These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of the HanziDiff app (the “App”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. License

We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your own non-commercial learning. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, resell, or abuse the App or its backend services.

2. Subscriptions and billing

• Today’s puzzle and a basic daily AI scoring are free. HanziDiff Pro is an auto-renewable subscription offering additional benefits (such as answering past puzzles and more daily AI scorings).
• Pricing is shown in the App and may vary by region. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at purchase confirmation.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the period.
• Manage or cancel anytime in your Apple Account settings. Deleting the App does not cancel a subscription.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the App for unlawful purposes, not to attempt to bypass rate limits or security, and not to access the service through automated means.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of the answers you write. You grant us a limited license to process and transmit your submissions (including to our AI providers) solely to provide scoring and feedback. See our Privacy Policy.

5. Educational nature; no warranty

AI-generated scores, feedback, and model answers are for learning and may contain errors or omissions. The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time and delete your account in Profile → Delete Account.

8. App Store and Apple

The App is distributed via the Apple App Store and is also subject to Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Standard EULA). This agreement is between you and HanziDiff, not Apple; Apple is not responsible for the App or its content. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time; the “Last updated” date reflects the latest version. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the developer’s place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory local consumer law applies to you.
